Ideas for 2011-12:

1. Bags of Grace: Christian Outreach Ministry for Homeless

2. Austin Knitter's and Crocheters' Guild: Knit for Charity

3. Hill Country Nazarene Church: Food Pantry & Clothes Closet

4. Hands On Central Texas: Matches volunteers with projects!

5. Hill Country Community Ministries:  Provides crisis assistance.

6. Adopt-A-Park Cedar Park
7. Nursing Home Visits
8. Citizen Science Projects: Clearing House of Citizen Science Projects (Nature Study) 

9.  Other ideas? 

The goal will be to have the teens research and brainstorm ideas for a volunteer project or projects. It'd be nice to have at least one project per year. Depending on the project, volunteerism can be tied into our nature study (cleaning the park or trail) or hand craft ideas (knitting for charity) and can be implemented during our normal meeting times.  However, like field trips, there might be aspects of the volunteer project that require us to meet outside of our normal meeting time and we'll work for consensus when it comes to that aspect of the volunteer project.
